Lindsey Brauzer - Head Coach
Hi Dolphin Swimmers!! It's a pleasure to be back again this summer!
My swimming career began when I was 5 years old. I swam for my local YMCA team in Meadville, PA. When I got to high school, I joined my high school team and swam all four years and was the captain my senior year. I did not swim in college, but I couldn't stay away from the pool for long. I got involved coaching for the YMCA in High Point, NC. After college graduation, I moved to Woodbridge and started teaching high school English. I got involved as the assistant swim coach and I was promoted to head coach this past year. I'm looking forward to a great swimming season and some fun times at the pool!! GO DOLPHINS!!!
Sam Lawrence - Assistant Head Coach
Coach Samantha (Sam) has been part of the Wellington family for 13 years-first as a swimmer, and for the past 8 years as a coach. Sam still holds records at Wellington-for both the 15-18 200 Free and 200 Medley Relays. Still unbroken since 2002! Sam swam all though High School for Osbourn Park, attending the State Championships every year. She also spends time coaching for QDD. This year she coached the Gold, Silver and Bronze groups at the Freedom center. Sam continues to swim competitively as an avid Masters swimmer with the QDD Masters Swim Team.
Sam is currently attending George Mason University after earning an Associates degree in Business from NOVA. She is continuing her studies and anticipates earning her Bachelors degree in the fall of 2008.
Sam is certified in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Lifeguarding, and is also a American Red Cross certified Lifeguard Instructor. Sam is a member of ASCA and USA Swimming.
Nikki Ritner- Assistant Coach
Coach Nikki has been a Wellington Dolphin for about 9 years and she loves it! Nikki is 17 years old but will turning 18 this summer. Although she plays soccer in the "off-seasons", swimming is her main passion. She is patient, easy going and is always smiling. Nikki is very excited to meet the new swimmers (as well as the returning swimmers) and to start this season. Let's go Dolphins!
Kyle Leygraaf - Assistant Coach
Coach Kyle has been swimming with the Wellington Dolphins for 6 years now and holds several records. He began when he was 13 years old. In addition to Wellington, he swims for QDD Swim Team and Osbourn Park High School Swim Team. Kyle has coached for Wellington in the past as a summer and winter instructor, he also teaches swim lessons during the summer. Kyle is a member of US Swimming, and is certified in CPR for the professional rescuer, First-Aid, and life guarding. He enjoys working with children and helping them achieve their potential.
Michele Ritner- Assistant Head Coach
Michele is very excited to be working with the Wellington Dolphins for yet another season! This is her fifth summer as a Wellington coach and she has coached several winter sessions with the Dolphins, as well. Being an "alumnae" of the Wellington Swim Team, Michele holds a special place for the Dolphins in her heart. Michele loves working with children, so coaching for Wellington provides a great way for her to combine two of her passions. She believes in challenging swimmers in a fun and positive way which motivates swimmers to work hard and to do their best every time they enter the water. Michele will be entering her third year this fall at James Madison University where she studies elementary education. She is looking forward to the Dolphins' best season yet! Go Dolphins!
Jessica Trizna- Assistant Head Coach
Hi everyone, this is Coach Jessica. I am 19 years old and I have been swimming since I was four years old. I started off on Stonewall but came over to Wellington when I was six. I am now too old to swim for Wellington, but I'm still excited to come back and coach. I have also been a coach for about six years now. I am currently finishing up my sophomore year at Virginia Tech where I am majoring in biochemistry and psychology. I am really looking forward to having another amazing summer with the Wellington Swim Team!!
Rachel Severson- Assistant Coach
I've been swimming competitively since I was 6 years old. I started out swimming at Radford University's Dedmon Center. I continued my competitive training when I moved here with QDD. I swam in the Advanced Senior Group for 2 years and am now participating in the Senior Group. I am a member of the Osbourn Park High School Swim Team. I joined Wellington 6 years ago when I moved here. I've coached for Wellington for 1 summer season and 2 winter seasons.
David Hayes- Assistant Coach
